Many online sellers are legitimate. If you shop online, these questions can help you spot an offer that deserves a closer look.
How can I check that an online seller is legitimate?
Look for a full business name, a physical address, and a phone number that works. Search the seller’s name with “reviews” or “complaints,” and read reviews on sites the seller does not control. Paying by credit card can give you more ways to dispute a charge.
What if the price or photos seem too good to be true?
A price far below other retailers may mean different fabric, a copy of the design, or an order that does not arrive. Some sites also use Designer photos of dresses they do not stock. A reverse image search can show where else a photo appears, and the Designer’s site can confirm authorized retailers.
What should I check before I order?
Photos cannot show how fabric feels or how a style fits, and size charts vary. Check production and shipping times, tracking, and the return policy, including who pays return shipping and whether you get a refund or store credit. Leave extra time for delays and alterations.
Will I be the only one in this dress?
Not guaranteed. Exclusive dresses are not sold online, which can lower the chance of seeing your dress on someone else at prom, but it cannot be ruled out completely.
